Trigg Beach: Surfer is bitten by a shark in Perth
A surfer has been bitten by a shark at a beach in Perth.
The man was attacked at Trigg Beach at about 5.35pm on Wednesday. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A woman wrote on Facebook that her brother was the man who was attacked and that he had been able to take himself to hospital.
'A few puncture wounds and they are currently trying to take a tooth out of his leg,' she wrote. 'He is doing ok.'
The shark was likely to have been small in size, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development said.
A shark was spotted about 10 metres off shore at the beach around the same time as the attack.
Last month, a spearfisherman was bitten by a shark near Coral Bay, a remote beach about 1,200km north of Perth. His injuries were not serious.
