Knott's Berry Farm introduces draconian new policy to crack down on line jumpers

Knott's Berry Farm theme park has introduced a system which allows visitors to text security guards to alert them to line jumpers.

The California attraction is warning anyone caught cutting queues or holding spots in line will be ejected from the facility.

'Your entire party must be together when entering the line,' a notice posted at the park reads.  'If you must leave the line, please inform an associate of your intent to return to your group.'

Anyone who notices a line jumping 'violation' is encouraged to text 'detailed information' to the Knott's Berry Farm Security team.

The measure is designed to curtail unfair behavior at the Buena Park attraction, which can often exacerbate lengthy wait times.

The scheme is being tested on the GhostRider roller coaster, after it was successfully introduced at other parks owned by operators Cedar Fair, the Orange County Register reports.

The Knott's Code of Conduct policy forbids line jumping or 'leaving and re-entering a line for any reason or place holding in line'.

Repeat offenders will be escorted from the 57 acre facility, according to the policy.

Posts on social media reveal how wait times at the popular park can often stretch to 150 minutes during peak hours.

Around four million visitors flock to Knott's Berry Farm every year, making it the 12th most visited theme park in the US.

Beginning life as a roadside berry stand in 1920, today Knott's Berry Farm boasts more than 40 rides, including rollercoasters, waterslides and family rides.

Last year park bosses introduced a chaperone policy following a surge in 'unruly and inappropriate behavior'.

Under the policy, all guests ages 15 years old or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old in order to be admitted to or remain in the park past 4pm.

It came after the park was forced to shut after a series of brawls largely among underage visitors broke out in 2022.
