A gel blaster gun left behind by a passenger sparked chaos on a Sydney-bound train during Friday morning's rush hour due to its striking resemblance to a Glock pistol.
Daily Mail Australia understands when the train arrived at Sydenham station around 8am, a man departed the carriage and accidentally left the gun behind.
After he departed from the station, a woman sitting across from his seat noticed the black gun pointing towards the aisle.
The woman shouted that there was a gun on the train, causing many passengers to jump up in surprise.
'This poor woman who had been sitting across from him was saying out loud, "Oh, that man left a gun on the train",' one witness on the train told The Sydney Morning Herald.

Following the discovery, the train proceeded to Redfern station, where Sydney Trains staff were alerted to the situation.
The gun was removed from the train and the train resumed its journey towards the city centre.
The police clarified to Daily Mail Australia that the firearm found was not a conventional gun despite its appearance, and was was identified as a gel blaster.
Gel blaster guns are illegal in NSW and owning one is considered the same as having an unregistered firearm, which is a serious offence under the Firearms Act of 1996.
