Alsatians strapped to German soldiers learnt new tricks during a military water exercise yesterday.
He watched troops from the Kommando Spezialkraefte (KSK) launch themselves off the diving boards in full gear, while holding the pups in their arms.
The KSK is an elite unit of the Bundeswehr, the German armed forces, and participates in NATO's Special Operations Land Task Groups (SOLTG).
The pair caused a giant splash in the swimming pools, located at their main training centre in Calw.
Members of the special forces unit demonstrated to Olaf Scholz , Chancellor of Germany , how they train their dogs for water operations

However, the hounds looked rather unbothered by the drill, as they paddled around the water and also joined members of the unit on rafts in the pool.
After watching the exercise, Mr Scholz spoke to soldiers and gave a speech. Yesterday marked his second day in the German state of Baden-Württemberg.
This comes as fears are rising among intelligence experts that the German military leaks are just the 'tip of the iceberg'.
'The leak could have been just the tip of the iceberg,' August Hanning, Berlin's former intelligence chief, told German Tabloid Bild.
The intelligence expert added that he assumes the Russians could have listened in on even more than the 38-minute conversation between high-ranking German military officers.
German chancellor Olaf Scholz was being used by Russia as a 'useful idiot' after the country had identified Germany as the 'weakest link', according to sources quoted by the Telegraph.
The German government vehemently rejected allegations that Russia's leak of a conversation by high-ranking German military officers was an indication that Berlin was preparing for war against Russia on Monday.
