Who’ll silence the Blessed sat-nav? Celebs lend their voices to TomTom
You're going the wrong way! Brian Blessed has lent his voice to satnav
What is it with celebrities lending their voice to satnavs? Brian Blessed is the latest to succumb, thanks to a successful Facebook campaign (and probably a sizeable fee).
TomTom will also let you download John Cleese (who’s a touch long-winded, meaning you could miss your turning); Billy Connolly (perhaps too chipper if you’ve got screaming kids in the back) and Star Wars characters Darth Vader, Yoda and C3PO.
Comedian Eddie Izzard has recorded directions in his trademark rambling style, and gravel-voiced Bob Dylan admitted last year he was considering following suit, before concluding: ‘I always end up at one place — on Lonely Avenue.’
But if you’re a committed narcissist there’s only one voice worth listening to — your own.
With a microphone and website satnavvoices.com, you can record your voice, then tell
yourself off for not taking that left turning . . .
Thanks to a Facebook campaign drivers with TomTom satnav can now receive directions from Blessed
