Public respond to Milly appeal
More than 50 members of the public have called detectives hunting missing schoolgirl Amanda Dowler after an appeal for information.
Surrey Police are still trying to trace witnesses who might have seen the 13-year-old - known as Milly - being abducted.
Milly was last seen as she walked home from Walton-on-Thames train station on March 21. Detectives are investigating the possibility that she may have been snatched by a chance abductor.
A police spokeswoman said detectives are now evaluating the calls logged by their call handling centre within 12 hours of Friday's media appeal.
She said: "We're going to concentrate our efforts on working through all those calls. It's too early yet to say if a significant lead has emerged."
Seven people were caught on CCTV footage on Station Avenue - where the teenager was last seen at 4.08pm - at nearly the same time.
Detectives believe they may hold crucial information about Milly, and may not have come forward because they did not realise its significance.
Police want to hear from a man wearing a light top and carrying a black guitar case walking along the road at 4.06pm.
A blonde woman in dark trousers and top was seen two minutes later.
A group of four people, possibly girls, were seen minutes after her, as well as a cyclist riding past.
