Anything Michelle Obama can do, SamCam can do too!
With a high-powered job and a baby on the way, she already has plenty on her plate. But Samantha Cameron found time in her busy schedule to help cook lunch at a shelter for the homeless.
Her visit follows a similar outing by Michelle Obama to a soup kitchen in Washington last June, suggesting Tory strategists have looked to the White House for inspiration.
Fun time: Sam Cam worked alongside volunteer chefs at The Passage in Central London
The Tory leader’s wife chopped carrots, stirred a stew and joked with volunteer chefs at The Passage in Central London, which provides up to 200 hot meals for rough sleepers each day.
Simply dressed in a loose brown shirt and wearing hooped earrings, she added a striped apron for her first solo appearance on the election campaign trail.
The Tories hope Mrs Cameron, 38, creative director at the luxury stationer Smythson, will show the party’s caring side. Her husband has described her as his ‘secret weapon’.
Getting stuck in: Sam Cam didn't hold back in her involvement at the shelter
