This is the astonishing moment a meteor turns the sky green as it passes over Turkey. 

Footage shows a car driving on a quiet road when the sky lights up in green as the meteor sails towards earth.

It erupts into flashes of green light as it comes closer and finally a ball of white light, before sinking the road into darkness again.

A second video taken from a playground shows a child playing with a balloon.

Behind the boy, the cloudy sky is lit up in green by the passing meteor.
