Police officer, 31, is stabbed in the face
A police officer has been stabbed in the face.
The officer was among cops called to a home in Anna Bay near Port Stephens in New South Wales at about 8.25am on Friday, where they found a man and woman inside.
The man, 42, is then alleged to have stabbed the cop, 31, with a narrow metal instrument.

The officer was taken to John Hunter Hospital with non-life-threatening facial injuries.
The 42-year-old man was arrested and taken to the Mater Hospital for assessment.
After he was released from hospital, he was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station where he was charged with seven offences, including wounding a police officer, assault and possessing a drug.
He was refused bail and will appear at Newcastle Local Court on Saturday.
