Couple's narrow escape after a car smashes into their ROOF
It wasn't so much a case of things that go bump in the night - more like a terrifying crash.
For a speeding car had sailed through the air after hitting a ramp-shaped mound of earth and smashed into Peter and Kay Arnold's bungalow in a Sydney suburb.
The couple were woken with a jolt when the saloon smashed into their tiled roof, trapping the two young men inside.

Grabbing their three-month-old daughter Zoe, the Arnolds ran out into the street - and couldn't believe their eyes when they saw the car 'parked' on their roof.
Half of the vehicle had smashed through the tiles and was embedded in the attic.
It was sheer luck that the car had not crashed through the ceiling into the bedroom.
'The crash frightened the life out of us,' Mr Arnold told neighbours who came out of their homes in the early hours of the morning.
The two young men inside the vehicle had to be cut free by firefighters.
'It's not the kind of sight you expect to find when you're called out to a traffic accident,' said one police officer. 'None of us could believe our eyes.'
Police said they suspected speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash.
They are also investigating whether the driver had been racing with another vehicle.

The car to veered across to the wrong side of the road, crashed through a traffic light pole and ran across a footpath before hitting the mound of dirt.
It was sent soaring over a wooden fence, smashing through the branches of a tree, flipping over - before finally ploughing into the Arnolds' home.
One of the passengers managed to free himself from the wreckage, but remained trapped in the roof. The other man was unable to get out.
Ambulance, police and fire rescue teams worked on freeing them for an hour, before they were lowered to the ground and taken to hospital.

They were said later to be in a stable condition with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Inspector Adrian Grech, of suburban Blacktown police said: 'I've been to some pretty bad accidents, but this is genuinely a different and strange accident.'
He told News Ltd: 'To have an accident which starts 90m away and actually gets a vehicle airborne, there would have been substantial speed involved.'
Mr and Mrs Arnold were said to have been shaken but told rescuers they were thankful they and their daughter were able to walk away unharmed.
