Clarifications and corrections
We published an article on 7th August which followed up on reports in other media outlets stating that the minister for government efficiency vowed to launch a probe into ‘flexitime’ deals for civil servants working 'part-time hours on full-time pay'. The article was amended on the day of publication to make clear that the hours worked by civil servants as part of this arrangement (37.5 per week) would in fact be considered full-time, and any inference from the headline that civil servants intended to defraud the public is regrettable. We apologise for the error and for any confusion caused.
