Explosives scare at US airport
One concourse at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport was evacuated on Friday after a screening device detected possible explosives residue, officials said.
"The situation is under control" and preparations were being made to reopen the terminal and let passengers back in, said John Goersmeyer in the Cleveland mayor's press office.
Terminal C, affected by the incident, is used mainly by Continental Airlines
It was not known if explosives were actually involved or whether the screening system had malfunctioned, he added.
Some passengers already on board planes were taken off and everyone in the terminal was rerouted for a second screening.
The incident occurred in an area were passengers were being screened for entry into the terminal.
