We are four months on from Britain's decision to leave the EU and since then, as most people will be aware, the pound has plunged against major currencies across the globe.

Will it be a short-term blip or will it recover? At the moment, without a crystal ball, it is difficult to tell.

One thing is for sure – we love our currency, with plenty of wannabe numismatists around the country. The topic of coins and notes has proved wildly popular on This is Money, whether it be the coins worth a mint which could turn up in your change to the new polymer £5 notes selling for a tidy sum online.

With that in mind, we have developed a fun (and slightly depressing in equal measure) quiz to test your forex knowledge.

One mark for each answer of the nation the note is from and the name of the currency, and another if you guess correctly whether the pound has risen or fallen against it since June 23  (answers at the end of the article).

1. Where are these old fashioned looking notes from, and do you get more or less now for £1 than before the Brexit vote?

2. Yes, it's a €50 note – but which European country is it from and will sterling get you fewer of them now than before 23 June?

3. The Bank of England has recently issued its first polymer note, but this country has been doing it for years and they are out of this world. Where is it and has this currency strengthened versus the pound since the Brexit vote?
