Endowment performance

ENDOWMENT performance matters. If performance is bad you may find that you will have a shortfall on your mortgage. Here are the latest payout figures for 25-year with-profit endowments*. They relate to a 29-year-old non-smoking man who paid in £20 a month for 25 years, with the policy maturing in April 2003**.

Some companies are missing from this table because they refused to provide figures for Money Marketing's researchers, who compiled the table, usually claiming that as they no longer sold these policies the figures would be meaningless. This is true but unfair as it means that people with their endowments have no way of making comparisons.
