FTSE changes announced

After the market close the FTSE equity indices committee, which decides on which companies to include in the indices, announced the new line up of blue chips.

The FTSE-100 joiners were Old Mutual which had fallen 6p to 132 1/4p on the day, Sema Group down 18p to 750p and Sage down 115p to £28.35.

The trio displaced Emap, which had gained 4p to £10.60 on the day, Stagecoach which had fallen 2 1/2p to 207 1/2p and Smiths Industries down 15p to 948p.
