Insurance crisis talks for bosses
THE insurance crisis facing small businesses will be discussed today by industry and Government officials. The talks follow claims that soaring employer's liability premiums could close businesses in 'high-risk' sectors such as building, transport maintenance and mining.
Builders' leaders say the situation threatens public sector projects, including schools and hospitals. Two rail company chairmen may resign because of problems getting professional indemnity insurance. The Treasury said the situation is being monitored.
