SRH dusts down its archives

SCOTTISH Radio Holdings is to release a massive collection of old, forgotten radio recordings of stars such as U2, Rod Stewart, Roxy Music and Elvis Costello.

It has agreed a multi-million pound deal with Universal Music to issue a series of CDs.

SRH chief executive Richard Findlay suddenly remembered about the 'amazing archive' which had been left to gather dust in the group's offices.

'It is a bit like finding something down the back of the sofa,' he said. More than 600 recordings have been found.

The sessions were recorded for SRH's Radio Clyde station. The radio group reckons it is one of the largest archives of such material, second only to the BBC.
