High rollers turn tables on Rank

BIG wins for high rollers at the Clermont and fewer punters at regional casinos forced Rank to admit at today's annual general meeting that it is cautious about the outlook for the rest of the year.

Mecca Bingo saw a 4% fall in attendance but a 5% upturn in spending in the first three-and-a-half months of the year. Hard Rock Cafe's sales are up and the brand is moving into hotels and casinos.
