CHEMICALS giant ICI has managed to increase its profits despite higher raw material costs, posting an 8% hike in underlying profits for the three months to September.
So far, ICI has managed to pass on all its cost increases to customers. Buy at 322p.
Aerospace engineering firm Hampson Industries has proved it is prepared to substantially invest in one of the fastest growing sectors of the aerospace industry, buying firms that develop advanced composite technology used in manufacturing airframes.
Buy at 22.75p.
Mwana Africa was formed through a reverse takeover of African Gold by Mwana Africa Holdings last month.
Its plan to create a pan-African mining company run by credible management and funded out of London is attractive, making the stock a speculative buy at 40.5p.

IT security software firm nCipher is profitable and generates cash, unlike many technology companies. The group's strong position in the encryption market means it could grow substantially if the management gets it right.
Revenues rose 22% and profits trebled to £2.2m in the nine months to September. Buy at 206.5p.
Mineral resources exploration firm Gippsland has taken another step forward towards the production of tantalum, a greyish silver, very hard metal used in laptops, mobile phones and vide cameras.
Gippsland is in talks with an international bank to finance a tantalum-tin project in Egypt. A buy at 5p.
