What rights do I have as a trustee?

I am one of the beneficiaries of a trust. I am no longer on good terms with the relative who, along with a solicitor, is trustee.

Trustee Fallout: Even if you're not talking to each other, you have rights

What rights do I have to be informed about what is happening with the money and the fees that trustees are taking? K.A.

Julie Hutchinson, head of estate planning at Standard Life, replies: You have the right to ask for a set of trust accounts.

If the trustees do not produce this for you, then you are faced with taking the trustees to court to force them to disclose the accounts.

The accounts should set out how the trust fund has been invested, how fees have been settled and other financial information.

You may find it easier to deal with the solicitor trustee.
