New-look shares
I have 50,000 shares in Telewest, which became Telewest Global last year. Should I have received a new share certificate and are the shares trading? GJ
Richard Hunter from Hargreaves Lansdown Stockbrokers says:
Telewest was restructured in July and shareholders should have received one Telewest Global share for every 804 previously held. So you now have 62 shares in the new company. These shares are traded chiefly on the US Nasdaq index and are in Crest Depositary Interest format.
This means they are held in a nominee account at Lloyds Registrars and may either be transferred to your stockbroker or sold via Lloyds Registrars' postal service.
To sell through Lloyds, contact Lloyds Registrars at The Causeway, Worthing, West Sussex BN99 6DA, 0870 850 0852. The shares are currently about $16.45 (857p) each.
