A Maxi Isa decision

I am considering my Maxi Isa for this year. I have several Peps, mainly in UK and European funds, and I want to diversify. The choice is between North America and the Far East. Which would you advise? ED, Bridgend

Ian Millward at independent financial adviser Chase de Vere says: Why not do both? North America and the Far East are the hardest markets to ignore, North America because as the world superpower the US lends it stability and the Far East because it is expected to grow over the long term, though don't put more than 5-10% of your total equity investment in the Far East as it is so volatile. If you pick a good maxi ISA provider you could invest in both markets - say £5,000 in North America and £2,000 in the Far East.
