Loan arrangements
I need to get a personal loan. I am in full time employment but I have recently changed both jobs and addresses. I am also living in a shared house where there may be adverse credit history, although nothing to do with me. E.S., London
Jill Stevens, consumer credit spokesperson at Experian says: You can still get a personal loan even if you have changed jobs and address. But your ability to receive credit can be affected if you are not on the electoral roll. If you are not on this list at your current address, give the bank or building society your old address where you were. Don't worry about changing jobs. Nobody stays in one job for a long time. If you change every few weeks, the lender might think this odd, but not if you change around once a year.
When filling in the application form, don't be scared of scribbling on the form to give the bank or building society full information or personally visit your local manager. You do not need to worry about the credit history of the shared house in which you are living. People are only linked if they share the same surname in the same house.
