Ferguson no more

You recently published my question asking what happened to the company Elswick plc and said Elswick had been taken over by Ferguson International Holdings. I can't find a listing for Ferguson. What has happened to them? DC, London.

Jeremy Batstone, of NatWest Stockbrokers, says: Elswick was a bicycle manufacturer which sold itself to Ferguson International in September 1994.

Elswick shareholders got one Ferguson share and £1.75 in cash for every 29.2 Elswick shares. But, bad news! Ferguson International went into liquidation at the end of January and liquidators are currently selling the remaining assets. Its shares have been removed from the market.
