Is early retirement a possibility?

I am thinking of taking an early retirement package, at the age of 63, from my company pension scheme, plus Additional Voluntary Contributions. I also pay an FSAVC independently of my company pension. Can I transfer these so I can receive the benefits with an early retirement package? ET, Evesham.

Jon Minchin, independent financial adviser at Pensionline, says: Yes, you can take AVC and FSAVC benefits at the same time as you take occupational scheme benefits. You have to take the benefits from the FSAVC at the same time as the other benefits if you are not working, You do not have to transfer the FSAVC.
