The top five money-saving iPhone apps
There seems to be an iPhone app for just about everything, from flight landing control games to monitoring your sleep patterns, but are there any that can save money?

Kerching: Apps that can save you money
The vast majority of money-saving applications are available only on the Apple iPhone, through the Apple App store, although rivals such as BlackBerry and Android have also started to offer them.
We list five of the best and ask you to add your favourites to our reader comments at the bottom of the article.
Vouchercloud
Cost: Free
Vouchercloud Mobile Vouchers works out where you are via GPS and brings up the offers closest to where you are. Once you've found a relevant voucher then you can find the location using Google Maps. You can then go through to the page showing the voucher. If you have a smartphone using Google's Android, you can download My Coupons, which offers a similar service. This app is great if you don't' want to print out voucher or are on the go.
0870
Cost: Free
Although it is free for BT customers to call 0870 (along with 0845 and 0800) you still have to pay when dialing from a mobile. From 'saynoto0870.com' there's an app which lets you check for an alternative to your 0870/0845/0800 number. Some reviews say that service is patchy, although I tried it out on 5 numbers and it seemed to work fine.
MORE TH>N – Car Claim
Cost: Free
This app allows you to capture the key information you need when making a car insurance claim. There is also an option to take photos and capture precise locational data via GPS. Not so much money saving as money related, but as the saying goes time is money, right? The Car Claim tool is not just for MORE TH>N members – which means anyone can use it in the event of a car claim. However, while it allows you to send the info directly to MORE TH>N it doesn't link to any other providers which could be a bit of a hassle. A worthwhile app nonetheless.
Petrol Prices Pro
Cost: 2.99
I wanted to avoid using apps which you had to pay for in this round up but I think Petrol Prices Pro justifies its cost. The comprehensive app from the people behind petrolprices.com lists prices and locations of the nearest petrol stations. It also lets you save the information about your favourite searches. A great app that will earn back its cost in a couple of petrol stops.
Nosey Parker
Cost: £1.79
Nosey Parker allows you to find the closest free parking zones. It also outlines what the restrictions are and what time parking is free. It lists details of over 13,000 UK car parks. You can also change results to show car parks which have received safer car parking awards and alternatives to your closest location. A decent app for those who need parking quickly and cheaply.
