Final Bug warning

Small firms from hairdressers to hotels are in danger of going bust if they ignore the last chance to tackle the Millennium Bug, warns Don Cruickshank, chairman of the Government's Action 2000.

For Y2K, Cruickshank says 565,000 companies with fewer than 250 employees have not done enough. They risk losing customers, and ultimately going out of business, if they fail to address the problem.

Launching the Last Chance campaign, which will post out

1.3m information guides, he said: 'The wait-and-see attitude of many businesses is a dangerous strategy and one that will lead to disaster.'
