Transform your business
Help is on hand for employees stuck in a rut or for owners of small businesses struggling to meet the targets of their business plan.
It is often a good idea to listen to the advice of successful people such as Sophie Chalmers, an award-winning entrepreneur and businesswoman. She has launched a free factsheet called Transform Your Business. It includes advice on achieving success and shows how to make customers keep coming back.
Chalmers, founding editor of the small business magazine Better Business, came up with the factsheet idea after her own success was recognised. She recently won the small business owner category of the Welsh Woman of the Year award.
'What made the award so special to me was that, not long ago, my business was in a rut, going nowhere,' she says. 'By taking a new attitude and rethinking my goals and initiatives, I turned my business round. My aim with the factsheet is to help people who, like me, reach for a dream.'
Help is also available for those looking for a job. More than 40 courses designed to help those planning to revive their CVs in time to make New Year applications are being offered by Knowledge-Pool, an IT, personal and business skills training company. A survey commissioned by the firm found that three quarters of respondents were creating personal development plans, rather than relying on employers to manage training programmes and determine the direction of their careers.
Details of the courses can be found at its website or call 01753 868181.
