The View hosts have called for the Clintons to testify before Congress about their relationship with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein

The Clintons sent a stunning message to Chairman James Comer this week, explaining why they refused a House Oversight subpoena on the Epstein files.

In response to the Clintons' defiance of the Congressional subpoena, Comer said he would push contempt charges against them.

But the hosts shared differing views about the former president's refusal, with some urging him to testify in court.

Joy Behar said she believes the pair should 'just testify to clear up any suspicions and get the last word in.'

Behar also took a sly swipe at President Trump, while offering the former president her two cents, arguing: 'You know, Bill should just say to Trump, "I'm more than happy to testify. You first!"'

Sunny Hostin agreed and added that the Clintons 'have done as much as everyone else that has been subpoenaed.'

Hostin then contended that Comer was leaving out information, by not reiterating that the former president and first lady have already provided sworn affidavits.

Combined with their four-page jaw-dropping letter on their position, Hostin said she believes it's 'very close to the same as already having testified.'

Hostin then brought Attorney General Pam Bondi into the matter, slamming her by saying they should subpoena her to testify about the full release of the files.

Sara Haines chimed in, saying, 'As someone who wants to see everything in the Epstein files and wants every single person held accountable, I think the Clintons should show up.

'It was a unanimous vote to subpoena them, and regardless of these affidavits or anything else, I think when people don't show up, it makes them look guiltier than they are,' she continued.

But she flipped the switch, and added that she believes former first lady Hillary Clinton should be left out.

'Her name does not appear once in the Epstein files,' Haines said. 'She has no known association beyond, I would guess, that Ghislaine Maxwell was at Chelsea's wedding, but to bring the wife into it like this feels weird.'

Alyssa Farah Griffin backed the view on the Clintons testifying in court, insisting they face it head-on.

'I just personally don't believe that Congressional oversight is something that should be optional to people,' she said.

'I would remind folks that Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon both defied congressional subpoenas and then did jail time for defying those congressional subpoenas during the January 6 investigation.'

Drawing on her personal friendships with the former president and first lady, Ana Navarro said she isn't 'comfortable' saying whether they should show up.

'But here's the thing, I want us as a society to hold the people that we like to the same standard that we hold the people that we don't like,' Navarro elaborated.

She then slammed President Trump, saying the House Oversight Committee is 'going vociferously against' the Clintons and believes they should go after Trump, 'who was one of Jeffrey Epstein's best friends for well over a decade.'

This discussion follows an astonishing four-page letter to Comer from the Clintons, who launched a broadside at Donald Trump and the Republican lawmakers carrying out his 'cruel agenda.'

They claimed a legal analysis proved they were not required to testify and insisted the subpoenas were an extension of Trump's 'weaponization' of the law.
