CBS News fires two more stars as mainstay of the weekend schedule is targeted after 28 YEARS on air
Embattled CBS News has fired two of its TV hosts after targeting their Saturday morning show.
CBS Saturday Morning anchors Michelle Miller and Dana Jacobson exited the Tiffany Network on Wednesday, according to reports.
Most of CBS Saturday Morning's staff have also been given pink slips, a person familiar with the matter told Variety.
The 28-year-old program is being overhauled by new CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss and President Tom Cibrowski, sources told the New York Post.
The cuts are part of a series of layoffs currently taking place at CBS's parent company, Paramount Skydance, after it was bought by billionaire mogul David Ellison over the summer.
Ellison announced a plan to axe more than 2,000 staff across the organization in a note to staff Wednesday.
Weiss called it a 'enormously difficult day' for the network during the network's morning editorial call, Semafor reported.
Earlier this week, CBS Evening News host John Dickerson announced he would be departing the network after 16 years.

The streaming editions of both his show and CBS Mornings are also being killed off.
CBS Morning Plus is anchored by Tony Dokoupil and Adriana Diaz, while CBS Evening News Plus was manned by Dickerson.
Internally, Dokoupil is a top candidate to replace Dickerson, Status reported.
A total of 100 positions at CBS News are being erased, a person familiar with the matter told CNN.
CBS Saturday Mornings Executive Producer Brian Applegate was among those to be let go on Wednesday.
Ellison told staffers in his memo: 'In some areas, we are addressing redundancies that have emerged across the organization.
'In others, we are phasing out roles that are no longer aligned with our evolving priorities and the new structure designed to strengthen our focus on growth.'
An initial round of cuts seen Wednesday impacted 1,000 staffers across various departments. Another 1,000 are soon to follow, the New York Times reported.

The layoffs will also affect Paramount's film studio and cable networks, including MTV, Nickelodeon and BET.
Well-connected sources told the Daily Mail earlier this year that executives will 'most likely' not renew longtime CBS Mornings host Gayle King's contract when it expires in May as well.
Deadline, Variety, and the Hollywood Reporter reported that CBS Saturday Mornings, which has been on the air since 1997, will be overhauled with a new format.
Remaining staff will be folded into the team running the weekday edition of the program hosted by King and Dokoupil, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
