After receiving a hate-filled email criticizing her weight, a meteorologist is firing back at her critics.

Carrie Duncan, a Mississippi-based weather reporter, took to Facebook on June 1 to share the content of a particularly vehement letter she had received from a viewer that attacked her recent appearance.

'Why in the world have you continued to tear your health up with all that weight?' the viewer asked. 'You will not live to see your children grow up if you do not get rid of that horrid gut and huge arms.'

The viewer went on to say that her husband no longer watches the news because he finds Duncan's appearance so 'repulsive.'

The aggressive letter concluded with a command to 'Please go away!!!' and 'Get yourself DE-FATTED somehow!'

In her open response to the letter, Duncan admitted that she is not happy with her current weight. 'I am tired a lot and not getting much sleep and eating poorly,' she said. 'I know this. I want to do better, and I know I will.'

Duncan's struggle may sound familiar to new mothers, as the weather reporter gave birth to her second son in December 2016.

'I am sharing this email I received to show you what some people have to go through,' Duncan said of the letter. 'There are some people who are seriously unhappy. Ugly people always have something ugly to say. Please think about the people you are saying these things about and to.'

Furthermore, Duncan does not believe this is the first time she has been contacted by this viewer. She wrote, 'I believe this person also sent a horrible email which I didn't read when I was pregnant.' One can only imagine the contents of such an email.

Though Duncan may be unhappy with her physique's current state, she isn't letting body-shamers win this round. 'Here's the thing,' she said. 'If you don't like something/someone on TV, change the channel. Please STOP WITH THE HATE!' she concluded.

Duncan's many fans were upset by the anonymous viewer's e-mail, and made their support for the meteorologist known on her Facebook page. 'Clearly this person is unhappy about something, to actually stoop to a level as low as to insult someone over their weight,' said one woman. 'Ms. Duncan, you're beautiful the way you are! Do not let this woman steal your joy!!'

Even individuals who don't regularly tune in to Duncan's forecasts felt the need to comment. 'I don't know you and I don't live anywhere near you. I saw this story and I had to comment. Whoever this person is, they aren't worth the trouble. Enjoy your child, be confident in your job, and keep your head up. My heart just hurts that there are people like this out there who are so mean.'

Despite one anonymous viewer's angry rantings, its clear that Duncan has many loyal viewers who are willing to support her, regardless of her size.
