Ski season is firmly upon us, so there's no better time to go on a much-needed 'après' shopping spree.

And in 2026, slopeside fashion no longer means frumpy. Instead brands like Columbia, Helly Hansen, M&S and H&M have paved the way for skiwear and thermals for women and men that are both practical and fashionable.

Whether you're a first time skier or an expert, it's time to get kitted out with the most stylish gear on the high street... even if you're only there for the Aperol Spritz and fondue (there's no shame in that!).

From luxury brand My Sunday Ski's stylish Zenith ski suit, priced at £495, to the more affordable Regatta Cream Zip Neck Fleece Sweatshirt, costing just £9.99, we've got something for everyone in our top picks.

So keep scrolling for proof that you don’t need to feel anything less than your fashionable best on the slopes - and that goes for the men too!...

How we test

To test out the best skiwear, we tried out the clothing and accessories on the slopes, ensuring we could give an honest description of each product. This means actually skiing in them over several days and wearing them around the resort.

We tested how comfortable the items were, as well as how well they kept us dry and warm.

The moveability of the product was also really important - there's nothing worse than feeling constricted while you're on the slopes.

We also assessed the quality, the pricing, the functionality and the fit of the garments to offer a well-rounded verdict.

The top half features a 3-layer waterproof hard shell, with 3M™ Thinsulate™ insulation, a fleece lining, and fully taped seams to keep you warm and dry. But then, proving to be just as fashionable as it is functional, the suit features flared, form-fitting legs, offering great movement and a flattering figure on the slopes.

There's also zip underarm vents for breathability as well as two concealed pockets and a ski pass pocket. The elasticated belt cinches you at the waist, offering an even more sleek silhouette. This really is a beauty, while also being functional for keeping you warm and dry.

2. Best fleece for skiing: Regatta Cream Zip Neck Fleece Sweatshirt

This has to be one of the softest, most comfortable fleeces I've ever worn. Like a cloud on your skin, there's nothing irritable about the fabric used and there was no chance of me becoming cold on the slopes while layering this underneath my coat.

The quarter zip offers adjustability so you can be more comfortable when on or off the slopes and the fit is flattering. Meanwhile, if the temperatures drop, this is a great base layer which can easily accompany a thicker fleece or gilet over it and underneath your coat.

It's waterproof, windproof and breathable, and has become an everyday wear for me, not just for Après-ski. It's a great choice for when you're done with the slopes and are ready to relax and enjoy your evening out and about at the resort.

5. Best women's waterproof coat for non-skiing days: Tog24's Lyra Womens Waterproof 3 in 1 jacket

Waterproof, windproof and breathable, this was a great coat for the days I stayed in the ski resort, exploring the restaurants and entertainment on offer, rather than on the slopes.

The hunter green jacket made me feel sophisticated and stylish rather than loud and brash thanks to it not being too in your face. Not only did it look great, I was kept completely dry and warm thanks to the fully taped seams and water repellent coating. Plus the A-line shape with a curved hem and back pleat detail meant it was a flattering number, without appearing too bulky.

It easily protects you from the elements, and keeps you dry if it snows thanks to the seam-sealed finish. The underarm venting helps with breathability and adjustibilty, meaning you can let the cool air in if you're getting too hot without having to faff around with removing a layer.

Meanwhile, the hood is helmet compatible and has peripheral adjustability to make sure it's a good fit. Plus the design features a dropped tail hem for extra protection. There's also pockets for your ski pass and goggles.

9. Best ski boots for women: Women's Snowtrot Peak™ ODX Winter Boot

These insulated, waterproof boots, with advanced reflective lining that traps and reflects your body heat while allowing moisture to escape, as well as a fleece interior for lasting warmth, were the most comfortable winter shoes I've ever worn in the mountains.

My feet stayed dry and toasty in the snowy weather, and they offered extremely great grip and support on the snow and ice, as well as much-needed flexibility despite being above ankle height. They were stylish, easily pairing with most outfits, and I had compliment after compliment whilst wearing them. To top it off, I had initially been worried about how well white boots would keep in snowy, muddy conditions but they were thankfully really easy to keep clean.

This insulated, waterproof ski anorak combines style with comfort. The advanced technology ensures you stay not only protected on the slopes, but also as comfortable as possible.

There's pockets galore and the fabric inside is remarkably comfy. I would say, however, that I sized up wanting plenty of room for thermals and a jumper underneath, but there was no need as it's very roomy to begin with.

Verdict

It's truly hard to pick a favourite out of the line-up of incredible products we tested, with just a few of the best featured above. There's the Tog 24 collection, which is always some of the best quality items, to the My Sunday Ski suit which felt incredibly luxurious.

But overall, when picking one standout item, it was the Women's Snowtrot Peak™ ODX Winter Boot from Columbia that really made an impeccable impression.

Not only were they a hit on the mountain, with compliment after compliment for their unique, but chic, styling, they've also made it into my winter wardrobe at home, saving me during any snowy or ice-filled days.

The grip and support they offered was outstanding, while they also provided easy movement because they weren't too tight on the ankle.

I also never had to deal with any damp and uncomfortable socks because they always kept my feet lovely and warm thanks to the technology the boots boast.

All in all, I'd recommend these to anyone looking for a fashionable but highly practical winter boot.

FAQs

What should skiwear include?

For those unsure on where to start with their skiwear purchases, it's best to tick off a few absolute must-haves.

These include a good waterproof ski jacket and ski trousers, ski socks to keep your feet warm and dry, goggles (preferably with interchangeable lenses for different visibility conditions) and a neck warmer, alongside your ski equipment.

The must-haves also include waterproof gloves like the Women's Arctic ones we've reviewed above - or go one step further and also pack hand warmers to hold. And whilst you're at it, don't forget a warm hat for when you're not wearing your helmet.

Finally, don't forget a good pair of winter boots (our pick is the Women's Snowtrot Peak™ ODX Winter Boot) for when you want to walk around the resort and take a break from skiing.

This isn't an inclusive list, and you'll need ski boots and other important equipment while on the slopes if you're skiing.

Can I still look stylish while opting for functional clothing?

Worried you're going to look frumpy or unfashionable while hitting the slopes because of how practical your clothing needs to be?

Don't fret, just because you need good quality items that help keep you warm and dry, it doesn't mean they can't be fun.
