I was born with two vaginas… here's how men react when they find out my secret

A woman who was born with two vaginas has revealed the effects that her unique condition has on her love life.

Annie Charlotte, 26, was born with uterus didelphys, meaning that she has two vaginas, two uteruses, two cervixes and an ovary on each side.

As a result, Annie has struggled in the dating department because many men tend to fetishize her condition.

'My two vaginas sexualize my relationships a lot,' she explained.

'Because I let people know quite early, or they've seen me in the papers, or they've seen my Instagram, my relationships start quite sexual, and that can be quite intense,' she continued.

'I feel like because of my condition the first thing that is spoken about is sex, and sometimes I just want someone to get to know me - not my vaginas.'

It also doesn't help that Annie is a professional OnlyFans creator who has been able to cash-in on her condition by joining the adult industry.

'I 100 percent feel judged because of my job,' she admitted.

'A lot of guys that I've dated think that I'm in love with the men I film with. I also feel like my partners always compare themselves to the person I'm shooting with, and then they judge me for enjoying it,' she continued.

'I've had partners before watch the tapes back and be like "you looked like you were enjoying sleeping with that guy more than you've ever with me."

'People don't feel comfortable with it, and they don't date me at all because they can't get past it.'

Despite the judgement, Annie is open about her career and her uterus didelphys with everyone she dates.

'I do have people physically disgusted by my job and I can see that they are repulsed by it. But honestly I love my job and find it inspiring,' she said.

'I don't expect to come home and tell my partner how my day was on set with another man, but I want to feel not awkward about coming home and having a chat with them,' she continued.

Annie was diagnosed with uterus didelphys when she went to get a contraceptive coil fitted as a teenager.

Many women don't know they have the condition because it does not always trigger symptoms.

Some are only diagnosed in pregnancy when they get routine scans and tests.

However, signs can include pain during sex, heavy bleeding, frequent miscarriages and preterm labour.

A double uterus occurs when a developing womb — which starts off as two separate ducts — fails to join together.

Medics don't yet know why the condition occurs, but it's thought to affect just one in every 3,000 women.

It can cause infertility among some sufferers, as it increases the risk of miscarriage because the uterus is smaller and may restrict the growth of a foetus.

Surgery to join a double uterus into one is possible but not often recommended by medics, unless patients experience severe symptoms.

The procedure removes the wall of tissue separating the two vaginas.

This can help the chances of sustaining a pregnancy.

Speaking about when she learnt of her diagnosis, Annie said, 'I was a young woman, I was just starting to become interested in dating and exploring different parts of my body and I was suddenly told it was different to everyone else's.

'As a teenager, you want to be "normal," and being told you weren't, was really quite scary.'

Luckily, by the time she went to university to study philosophy and religion a few years ago, Annie had learnt to open up - even using the quip 'I have two vaginas' as an ice breaker.

'I really started to accept it,' she said.

'I stopped looking at it as a medical issue, and all the problems that could arise from having children, and instead something that was just a super-cool aspect of myself because of people's reactions, they would be shocked but also so interested.

'Now, I've completely embraced it and accepted it as part of myself, and I've never been more confident.'
