A single woman has detailed her dating horror story after realizing the man she was texting might have been using ChatGPT.

Ambria Yvette, from Indiana, took to TikTok to open up about the situation.

She explained that the first thing that made her suspect the man she was talking to was getting help from AI was the style of his messages.

'I'm only saying that because of the format of his texts. There were always these dashes in between sentences,' she expressed, talking about em-dashes.

She explained that she paid no mind to it because she thought he was just 'really great at formatting his words and communicating.'

Ambria, who works as a behavioral therapist, also said he always responded with paragraphs to each part of her messages, which made her feel confident that he was paying attention to what she had to say.

However, when they met up for their first date, it was a major letdown.

'This man is mute. Mute,' she revealed.

'He had a thick accent but I'm like, okay... you should be saying… It wasn't even close to how he texted. So I'm like okay, maybe he's just nervous, I don't know.'

After the date, the situation somehow deteriorated further.

'We leave the date or whatever, he starts messaging me again. And, this time the format was different,' she explained.

'I feel like now that he was comfortable with me, he may have felt like, "okay, now I'm comfortable. She's seen how I talk or whatever." He started actually texting the way he talks.'

And Ambria was immediately taken aback.

'I'm like, "Hey, you're texting a little different now. Was that you texting me before our date?"

'He was like, "Yeah… like why wouldn't… who else would it have been?"'

She answered that question for him, by yelling: 'Chat! That's who.'

She said he was 'mute' on their first date and then started to text very differently after which she thought was odd (stock image)

'So I'm just like, it's very different. I'm like, go back up. Look how... look at the format, look at the paragraphs,' she continued.

'"Now you're like texting saying, am instead of I am. Like am home/I am home is that what you're trying to say?"

'It's just like no, babe. This is not gonna work for me. I'm like, maybe I should ask Chat?'

In a follow-up video, she posted screenshots of her conversation with the man that look highly like the work of ChatGPT.

As Ambria had previously stated, there were many dashes, and shocked viewers also mentioned in the comments about all the open-ended questions.

In a third video on the topic, Ambria shared more texts, this time featuring her flat-out asking the man if he uses ChatGPT.

He said he did use the AI helper, but only for work, not for texting.

Her last message before the video ended read: 'Mhmm, I caught you red-handed, huh?'

Other users were shocked by the man's bold use of ChatGBT.

'Not you [getting] chat-fished,' someone said in part.

'I would've ghosted. That was such a turnoff,' another admitted.

'The dashes are a telltale sign of ChatGPT,' a person wrote.

'Definitely ChatGPT, that's so embarrassing who uses AI to have conversations...' a comment read.

'I would stop talking to him and send him a screenshot of ChatGPT response telling him you're done with his a**,' another shared.

'Rookie mistake, I always remove the dashes and the capital letters,' a user stated.
