Tonight's full moon will leave many people feeling unsettled emotionally according to a leading astrologer, who warns the spring equinox and Mercury shifting back into retrograde days later will also have a huge effect.
Known as the 'harvest moon' the upcoming full moon is in Pisces and usually brings out people's emotional and moody sides, Rose Smith told Femail.
The intuitive astrologer said it is important to tread careful around this time, especially with relationships.
'It could bring emotional endings to events or relationships. Remember we need to find fulfilment within ourselves first rather than relying on others to complete us,' she revealed.
Every full moon has its own name based on the month or the season in which it appears - a name for each full moon allows people to reflect on each season and to contemplate how it affects them and the natural world.
The name harvest moon refers to the time farmers finish their harvest in North America before frost arrives.
Sagittarius (November 22 to December 21) Changes around your home and family are likely now. Neptune can bring an emotional time including confusion or a spiritual vibe at home
'Although astrologically it doesn't matter what name a full moon has, I would encourage people to think about things they want to harvest in their own lives,' Ms Smith said.
But it isn't just the full moon causing major changes, according to Ms Smith.
'We have three big cosmic events all occurring around the same time: the rise of the famously bright full Harvest Moon, the important seasonal marker spring equinox where we have equal hours of day and night, and Mercury retrograde which is notorious for throwing people off balance,' she said.
'There is a lot of change going on as we approach October with lockdowns being eased – this is a time when people need to be mindful that the heavens are challenging you,' she said.
Ms Smith also said people should 'get plenty of rest at this time.
The spring equinox brings a chance for new beginnings and healing, according to the astrologer.
'Spiritually the spring equinox represents the seeds that you have planted over the winter months - whether that be physical or in your unconscious - things you have been mulling over or ideas you have been planting now have a chance to come to fruition,' she said.
This week will also call in the third and final Mercury retrograde for the year - and as much as people despise the chaos caused by the planet when it moves in reverse - it is critical for our development, Rose revealed.
Mercury Retrograde in Libra begins on September 27th, and even though this is the planet's third retrograde this year, this seemingly 'backward step' event is especially important as we prepare for October's huge change.
'Mercury is the speedy planet that controls communication, technology and travel – and when retrograde, brings disruption, miscommunication and technological chaos relating to missed appointments, phone problems, arguments and mental confusion,' she said.
'The three Mercury retrogrades this year are a bit unusual in that they are all in air signs, particularly affecting the mental realms of our thinking.
'However, in October Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto all turn direct giving us a huge surge forward of energy. We'll be compelled to expand our lives in the search for self-fulfillment.'
Cancers have gone through a time of transformation and can look forward to exciting times ahead
Ms Smith recommends holding off any major decisions, purchases, and judgments and to use the time to slow down and reflect on your ideas surrounding love, beauty and peacefulness until after October 18.
This is the last Mercury retrograde for the year, and Librans will be most affected.
'Relationships may be tested due to misunderstandings or something weird happening, like your ex coming back.'
'Libra loves love so you two might get back together, but do remember why they're an ex. The ball is in your court however so do be aware of reoccurring patterns in relationships. Reassessing your and your partner's needs will be a top priority at this time.
'Libra is ruled by Venus who also looks after finances and business, so take extra care in these areas and watch your spending. Check your receipts and invoices during this time.'
Ms Smith said by paying attention to what is going on in your life, you can quite literally feel the energy when Mercury goes retrograde and when it turns direct, restoring order to your life once again.
