On-screen Bond abused by wives
British actor Roger Moore talks about his failed marriages and domestic abuse
Bond legend Roger Moore has alleged he was a victim of domestic violence in two of his turbulent marriages.
The actor, who has been married four times, claims his first wife Doorn van Steyn would scratch him during explosive arguments which blighted their seven-year union.
In a candid interview with Piers Morgan for his Life Stories TV series, Moore recalls, 'She would scratch me. My mother was always petrified when I went home to see that I had more scars.
The marriage was doomed. She threw a pot of tea at me. I'd been sunbathing in the garden, I came up and I'd taken off my pants and I gave her some smart Alec answer and this teapot came hurtling at me.'
He also accused the ice skater of attacking his doctor, adding, 'I cut my hand open once and we went round to the local GP (general practitioner) and she said to him, 'Aren't you going to do anything?' and punched him.
Which made a change because normally she punched me. -contactmusic.com

Cancer in 9/11 victims
The U.S. federal government has added about 50 types of cancer to the list of illnesses to be covered by a 9/11 health treatment programme.
The decision entitles 70,000 surviving emergency service workers and other survivors to free care.
The National Institute for Occupational Safety announced the change on the eve of the attacks' 11th anniversary.
Some 1,000 deaths have been linked to illnesses caused by toxic dust issuing from wreckage at Ground Zero.
Construction workers, emergency workers, office cleaners and others all fell ill in the decade after the attacks. - bbc.co.uk
