The aeroplane trolley comes back to earth
An air hostess's trolly? In your own home? With your socks in?
As well as custom prints, trolleys can be adorned with gold leaf (£4,160), Italian mosaics (£10,240) or - for the wealthiest jet-setters - Swarovski crystals (£24,120)
They don’t come with a glamorous air hostess (Ryanair customers, read ‘surly, spotty school leaver’), but on the plus side, neither do they contain congealed brown shapes labelled ‘beef stew for one’.
You can choose from a range of different interiors, with drawers made from plastic, aluminium or - for a homelier feel - walnut
Made by German company Skypak, these airline trolleys – which have in fact never seen the skies – can be decorated with practically any image or pattern you desire, and while they’ll cost you upwards of £1,100, they’re infinitely more interesting than anything from Ikea.
Just try to resist the urge to arrange your dining-room chairs in rows of two...
