Clarifications and corrections

At the Daily Mail we take great pride in the quality of our journalism.

All our journalists are required to observe the Editors’ Code of Practice and the Mail is a member of the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO), the new regulatory body for the Press set up in response to the Leveson Inquiry.

We aim to correct any errors as promptly as possible.

Early editions of the paper on September 1 wrongly suggested that, despite falling wholesale prices, British Gas had put up prices for some customers by 11 per cent. British Gas has since confirmed that this information was based on the disparity between two different tariffs which were not comparable and that prices have not in fact risen.

The film in which the late actor Richard Kiel was ‘the cable-chomping assassin’ about whom Bond said: ‘His name is Jaws, he kills people’ was Moonraker, not The Spy Who Loved Me, as we wrongly reported on Friday.
