Eczema
Last updated at 13:27 16 April 2004
There are 5million sufferers of the itchy skin inflammation which causes dry, red patches.
It can lead to painful lumps and blisters which may be at risk of infection.
One in three children develops eczema before the age of four compared with one in ten in the 1970s.
Most outgrow it but some suffer all their lives.
There is no cure but steroids and skin creams can ease symptoms.
