Work off your tax in the gym
Would you like to get paid to go to the gym? Under new plans being considered by the Government, you could receive tax breaks for taking exercise.
The plans are part of a series of new proposals under debate by the Government as part of a drive to make Britain healthier.
Patients taking part in gym sessions, walking or swimming as part of an exercise regime monitored by GPs or leisure centres could be financially rewarded.
The proposals have been put forward by the Activity Co-ordination Team, a body set up to fight obesity.
Increasingly sedentary lifestyles have been calculated to cost Britain £2billion a year in health care, productivity losses and absenteeism.
Obesity is estimated to cost the NHS more than £500million and cause around 54,000 early deaths a year.
