Snake-hipped Lord Mandelson danced with Turkish belly-dancers at the wedding of Ed Miliband’s spin doctor Joe Carberry to bride Balshan Izzet, who has Turkish parents and works for Ed Balls.

After making a witty speech, Mandy – who  is Joe’s godfather, and was once in a relationship with Joe’s dad – led the throbbing Turkish ‘davul and zurna’ wedding dance.

After the wedding at Quendon Hall, Essex, the newlyweds started a honeymoon that takes in Venice, an African safari and the Seychelles.

Theresa May publicly hugged and kissed former aide Fiona Cunningham at The Spectator’s summer party on Thursday.

They were meeting for the first time since Ms Cunningham was axed from the Government for delivering a toxic briefing against Education Secretary Michael Gove last month.

It’s a good job Gove did not witness the sisterly embrace – he might have concluded that the pair were still in cahoots.
