• Michael Sheen, who will begin filming director Tom Hooper's movie The Damned United, about Brian Clough's controversial 44 days as manager of Leeds United in 1974. Clough replaced Don Revie, a man he hated, at a club he loathed. The film's from the team of Andy Harries and Peter Morgan, who produced and wrote The Queen. Colm Meaney and Timothy Spall are rumoured to be in negotiations to portray Revie and Clough's brilliant right-hand man Peter Taylor.
• Clarke Peters, part of the ensemble cast of The Wire, a hit crime show running here on HBO, who will join David Bedella, Josh Groban, Idina Menzel, Adam Pascal and Kerry Ellis as the leads in the concert version of the Tim Rice-Bjorn Ulvaeus-Benny Anderson musical Chess at the Royal Albert Hall on May 13.
