EXACTLY what, one wonders, will self-styled intellectual author Salman Rushdie make of his stunning girlfriend's latest venture into popular culture.
Padma Lakshmi (left) - who Salman, 56, once branded as 'intellectually unchallenging' - is to be the new face of U.S. lager Budweiser.
Indian-born Padma, 32 - who bewitched crowds during a party in the summer at London's Serpentine Gallery with her dirty dancing for Rushdie - flew out to LA to film the commercial.
No word yet on the content, but Padma follows an illustrious list of stars of beer firm's adverts - including burping frogs, lizards and the lads who cried irritatingly 'Whassup'.
One assumes if three-times-married Salman can survive having his intellect unstimulated, he will overlook this latest news too.
