About

Isaac Yee is an open-source intelligence (OSINT) producer for CNN International, based at the network’s Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong.

He specializes in combining traditional reporting with digital forensic techniques—including geolocation, satellite imagery and geospatial data analysis—to verify and uncover information across global conflict zones and breaking news. He contributes to CNN’s real-time coverage through visual verification and analysis of open source data.

Yee has worked on major international stories, including the 2025 Israel-Iran conflict, the Israel-Hamas war, and the fatal mid-air collision between a Army helicopter and an American Airlines passenger jet in the U.S., where he obtained and verified exclusive footage of the crash.

Yee has reported from the field, including on the 2019 Hong Kong protests, contributing original reporting and supporting CNN’s broader network coverage.

He joined CNN full-time in 2024. He holds a degree in International Political Economy from Colorado College.
