About OPEC

The Office of Public and Employee Communications (OPEC) is comprised of the Press Office and the Office of Strategic Communications and External Affairs. These teams are responsible for providing timely and relevant information to educate and inform the public, the news media, agency staff, and stakeholders on the policies, events, operations, and successes of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) and California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS).
