Making his Pelicans debut after he had missed the team's first five games while recovering from a left knee sprain, Looney ousted Derik Queen for the top backup job at center behind starter Yves Missi. Though he's a rugged defender and strong rebounder, Looney's low-usage game will make it difficult to extract much fantasy value from him, especially while he's stuck in a sub-20-minute role.

Hawkins has slowly fallen in the depth chart, as he has seen his second straight contest with less than 10 minutes played despite averaging 16.7 minutes in the first three games of the season. Queen saw his minutes drastically decrease with the return of Kevon Looney (knee). He is likely buried in the depth chart behind Yves Missi, DeAndre Jordan, Zion Williamson and Saddiq Bey and will see very limited time on the court moving forward as long as everyone is healthy.

Fears ended Sunday's 137-106 loss to Oklahoma City with 16 points (6-13 FG, 4-8 3Pt), four rebounds and four assists across 26 minutes.
The rookie point guard failed to record a steal for the first time since the Pelicans' season opener, but otherwise it was another productive effort from Fears, which included his best performance yet from beyond the arc. In four games since moving into the starting five, the Oklahoma product is averaging 13.0 points, 5.0 assists, 2.8 boards, 1.8 steals and 1.8 threes in 28.0 minutes a contest.

The fifth-year wing sank five three-pointers for the second straight game, as Murphy begins to heat up from downtown. Pelicans' Zion Williamson: Just misses double-double Sunday
Williamson closed with 20 points (7-14 FG, 6-12 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and one steal in 28 minutes during Sunday's 137-106 loss to the Thunder.
The 25-year-old forward hit for at least 20 points for the second straight game and the fourth time in five contests, and he came one board shy of his second double-double. Williamson also led the Pelicans in assists on the afternoon, dishing at least five for the third time this season. He's averaging 22.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists and an impressive 2.0 steals in 31.4 minutes a contest to begin the campaign.

Looney has been bothered by knee soreness since the Pelicans' first preseason game in Melbourne, but he will suit up for the first time during the regular season Sunday. Looney will have to battle for minutes amongst a crowded center room that includes Derik Queen, Yves Missi, and DeAndre Jordan.

This is Looney's first questionable tag of the season as he inches closer to his debut for the Pelicans. Once Looney gets the green light, it's possible he soaks up the minutes currently assigned to DeAndre Jordan, but the rotations in New Orleans still appear to be fluid with the team off to a poor start.

Making his third straight start, Frears came close to producing his first career double-double as he led New Orleans in assists. The No. 7 pick in the 2025 Draft struggled in his first career start Monday, but he's scored at least 13 points in his other four games. The Pelicans seem committed to giving Frears all the responsibility he can handle -- at least until Dejounte Murray (Achilles) gets healthy.

Making his second straight appearance off the bench, Poole erupted for his first 30-point performance of the season as he led the Pelicans in scoring. The seven threes equaled his total from the prior three games combined, and through five contests to begin his tenure with New Orleans, Poole is averaging 19.8 points, 3.4 threes, 3.0 assists and 1.8 boards in 32.2 minutes.

Pelicans' Zion Williamson: Slams home season-high 29
Williamson produced 29 points (9-17 FG, 11-13 FT), six rebounds and three assists over 33 minutes during Friday's 126-124 loss to the Clippers.
After managing only 11 points Wednesday in his return from a one-game absence due to a minor bone bruise in his foot, Williamson looked more like his usual self Friday and set a new season high in scoring. The 25-year-old forward is averaging 23.5 points, 6.3 boards, 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals in 32.3 minutes through four games, and as per usual, it's his ability to stay on the court that will be key to his fantasy value.

Looney (knee) is out for Friday's game against the Clippers.
While it's not surprising that Looney was downgraded from doubtful to out, he appears to be inching closer toward making his season debut. The veteran big man will hope to return Sunday in Oklahoma City. Meanwhile, DeAndre Jordan should be able to stick around in the New Orleans rotation.
