Man found shot to death at house party in Duquesne, police say
A man has died after a shooting in Duquesne.
First responders found a man shot to death inside a home along Crawford Avenue just before 1 a.m. Monday. Investigators believe that there was a house party going on at the home when the shooting happened.
The victim was later identified as 32-year-old Shawn O'Leary of Dravosburg, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner.
Officers were still patrolling the area as of late Monday morning after the incident.
"This is normal. You know, they just roll, ride around, they patrol, make sure the neighborhood is safe," said Duquesne resident Tiara Robinson.
Robinson said this part of Duquesne is a family-friendly neighborhood. School bus stops are packed with children in the morning.
"Oh my God, it's sad. I mean, I really pray for the family. I just pray for everybody as a whole," said Robinson.
Even the front porch of the house police responded to shows signs of children. KDKA-TV saw a car seat and a children's grocery cart meant for playing.
"So, that means there were babies or something in the house maybe when this happened," said Robinson.
Robinson said she's seen the neighborhood change over the past couple of years after nine years of living here.
She said it's "very disheartening because I've been here so long. I have a 9-year-old, you know, she's outside, she plays."
It's quiet in the daylight, but knowing what happened here hours ago and what she's seen over the past few months leaves her on edge.
"It's been a lot. It's been a lot of shootings. I literally watched someone pull a gun out on someone like a couple of months ago," Robinson added.
Now, she's considering moving out of the neighborhood after this.
Officials have not yet determined a suspect or motive behind the shooting.
