Melting continues ahead of our next chance for mixed showers

NOW: Melting continues ahead of our next chance for mixed showers
NEXT:

After reaching 38 degrees yesterday in Milwaukee allowing for the start of some melting, we are still holding with a snow depth of 3".  Piles of snowfall should continue to melt over the course of today and tomorrow as highs are expected to return to around 38 degrees and then jump to the mid-40s Thursday.  Thursday, however, comes with the chance for rain turning to snow.

The remainder of this Wednesday is quiet with the potential for some patchy fog to develop throughout this evening.  Clouds will also increase tonight ahead of the chance for light scattered showers to enter by daybreak tomorrow morning.  By the lunch hour, rain will become moderate for most and even become heavy at times areas Waukesha and further east.  The rest of the afternoon will turn to snow or mixed showers, but as most temps continue to hold into the 40s, accumulation should not become a concern at this time.

A few flakes will hold through bedtime and then overnight, temps will drop as a second round of light snow moves in, mostly for areas north of the city.  Accumulation is possible at this time of 0.5" near MKE to closer to 2" up north towards Fond du Lac.  Also at this time, expect any rain or melted snow that has left wet roadways to freeze.  The morning commute for Friday could become slick!  Friday is also cooler behind this system with temps back into the 20s.  Luckily, we don't stay freezing for too long as Saturday's highs should return back into the low 40s.
