Please fill out this form to participate in a Ride along, Dispatch Sit along, or a Jail Tour. Pease note patrol ride-alongs are currently open for Deputy Sheriff applicants who have interviewed, passed written/polygraph tests, and are currently in the background process (with an assigned background investigator) only.
Dispatch sit alongs and Jail Tours are only offered to people in the application process or interested in a career at the Butte County Sheriff's Office.

Your request for a sit along / ride along will be reviewed for approval by the BCSO Backgrounds and Training Unit. Upon approval, you will be contacted to schedule the appointment, and your information will be forwarded to the deputy and patrol sergeant / dispatch supervisor / Jail sergeant, whose team you will be assigned to for the shift.
At the time of the ride along appointment the Dispatcher / Deputy will review his/her expectations and safety precautions with you and ask for your signature of agreement on the form at that time.
Please allow up to two weeks for this process to occur. Due to scheduling and/or deputy availability, sit-alongs / ride-alongs / jail tours may be cancelled. Notice of cancellation will be attempted with the applicant.
