Rebecca is the executive editor, magazine at Billboard, where she oversees and edits cover stories, long-form features and feature packages both in print and digitally. A longtime culture writer with deep expertise in theater and dance, she’s fascinated by all aspects of performance. Her writing for Billboard has included a cover story about JaQuel Knight, the first pop choreographer to register his work (the choreography for Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies”) for copyright; an in-depth feature about the world of creative direction for Las Vegas residencies, focused on Usher’s groundbreaking My Way; as well as feature profiles of Charlie Puth, Bonnie Raitt, Kylie Minogue, Lin-Manuel Miranda and more. In 2017, she launched the Billboard on Broadway podcast, where for over two years she hosted conversations between prominent creatives from the stage, screen and behind the scenes about the increasing overlap between musical theater, the mainstream music industry and broader pop culture.
When she’s not running between Broadway shows, Rebecca is probably at a hip-hop dance class, playing her French horn, rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles or checking off another ’90s rock band on her concert bucket list. Prior to joining Billboard, she spent a decade at New York magazine, regularly contributing to the Culture pages, and Vulture. She graduated from Harvard University, where she was a staff editor at The Harvard Crimson, crafted the impeccable playlist for her dorm’s ’80s Dance and may or may not have fanatically accosted The Strokes when they visited campus.
